A ready helper
They turn the night into day. Thanks to good illumination, people working night shifts stay awake longer and work more effectively. British researchers have found out that bright light counteracts fatigue by blocking the production of melatonin in the body, a messenger compound that regulates the sleep-wake cycle. People working on dark building sites or factories are, for various reasons, dependent on sophisticated light sources. Gladiator II is such a well thought-out workplace luminaire, as its functionality harmoniously reflects the reality and illumination demands of today’s workplaces. Fascinating design aspects include its robust and ergonomically shaped body, paired with the choice of materials: it consists of a hard, non-breakable and impact-resistant component and a soft one made of durable TPE plastic. Well matched in colour choice, this soft material is pleasing to the touch and, at the same time, lends it an unusual, yet friendly appearance that is very unusual for workplace luminaires. To offer a high degree of mobility that is needed in everyday work, the luminaire features an easy-to-grab handle and a bracket that offers four different angle adjustments; thus this workplace luminaire blends well into many different environments, providing very good illumination even for difficult workspaces. The harmonious concept is also taken up in the choice of the actual light source: the luminaire is equipped with two compact, EVG-powered and energy-saving 36-watt TC-F fluorescent lamps, which provide calm, non-flicker anti-glare illumination – thus designed, this luminaire is a ready helper in today’s workplace.
